Meet the Bod Squad Wonderdoodles!
I love my dog! I spent the afternoon yesterday playing fetch with him and rubbing his furry belly. His name is Gibson and his a Goldendoodle. That means his momma was a Golden Retriever and his daddy was a poodle. He is one of my very best friends.
On days when I am feeling sad or discouraged, I take Gibson for a walk and use that time to talk to my Lord. On days when I am happy, Gibson and I run and play and praise Jesus for all he has given us.
I am not the only Bod Squad member whose best friend has fur. My friends Dannah and Jenn also have Doodles and they have their own doggie stories to tell.
Here’s what Dannah has to say about her chocolate Labradoodle, Stormie!
“Stormie is my best girl friend! I don’t care what Erin and Jenn say, she is the doodle of all doodles! She got the doodle craze started in our little circle of friends.
The Lord teaches me a lot about Him when I walk Stormie. For example, she has learned to be so obedient that I don’t hold her leash when we walk. Either she carries it in her mouth or she lets it drag. Even when other dogs come near, she is usually obedient to sit or stay by my side though her squirming body tells me she’d really like to cut loose. Often she’ll just lean into me as if to say ‘It’s so hard to stay here, but I like you so much I choose you!’ I think God wants us to be like that. In tune to His Voice. He doesn’t want to restrict us with a leash. He wants us to love His Presence so much that we just stick close!”
Jenn’s fuzzy pal is named Madi and she’s a redhead just like Jenn! She lives with Jenn’s family in Florida and she is full of spunk just like Gibson and Stormie!
“Madeline (Madi) Grace lives in Lakeland, Florida with my parents. She’s a beautiful Labradoodle with fur that is nearly the same color as my hair! She’s a pet therapy dog and LOVES, LOVES, LOVES people. She’s just over a year old and is definitely a curious puppy. She weighs about 70 pounds and never ceases to amaze us with her ability to reach things on countertops! We love her.”
As you can tell, we love our puppies and they are proof of the power of friendship. What about you? Do you have a dog who sticks by you in good times and in bad? Have you taught her any tricks? Does he have a wacky name with a story behind it?
We’d love to hear all about it! We’re calling all Secret Keeper Girls and Secret Keeper Moms to post stories of their pooches right here on the Secret Keeper Blog. We’d love to see your pictures too. I’ve attached some pictures of our three Wonderdoodles to inspire you!
