Christmas Tree Day 2009
Black Friday means fighting the crowds for some, but for the Gresh Family it brings the hunt for the perfect tree. This year, I actually talked Bob into a smaller one. Six feet. Tiniest we’ve ever had! Stormie was sure to tree a cat on the Kuhn’s Farm…a tradition for her. We discovered a hole the size of Jupiter in Robby’s jeans. And…well, here’s my favorite photo from this year, taken just after Bob let the tree fall onto Autumn! You can “friend” me on facebook to see the whole album of photos (but not the hole in Robby’s pants.) Let the Christmas fun begin, Secret Keeper Girls!
This Secret Keeper Girl Tour Outfit Could Be Under Your Tree December 25th!
A winner has been selected for this giveaway and it is now closed. Thanks everyone for participating!
We are giving away two of our Secret Keeper Girl stage outfits just in time for Christmas. You could have this week’s outfit—the Punk Look—, and a special hand-written note from Secret Keeper Girl founder Dannah Gresh under your tree! This size 12 fashion-show outfit navigates through a couple of critical Secret Keeper Girl danger zones—the mini skirt and the punk look. The punk look went goth this fall with lots of skulls and crossbones. Since a Secret Keeper Girl loves Jesus, she represents life. So, we vote “no” to darkness and skulls and crossbones. Instead, try bright pink with a touch of black and other funky symbols. We also solved the mini-skirt problem with a pair of this season’s trend—imprinted leggings. This week’s winner will receive a white t-shirt, lime green “peace” leggings, plaid mini skirt, black jacket and hot pink scarf. How do you get a chance to win this random giveaway? Just tell us your favorite mother/daughter memory from 2009! Come back Wednesday, December 9th to see if you are the winner and to find out what outfit we’ll give away next!

Actually the fact that we were very close to the Florida State border probably had something to do with the heat…BUT nevertheless Secret Keeper Girl made its 3rd stop of the weekend in Brunswick GA and had a BLAST! Thank you so much to the church and volunteers, we were just blown away by your hospitality and your home-made chicken noodle soup and mini-pumpkin muffins- their memory lives on in our hearts. (and actually they brought tears to Cali’s eyes- the deliciousness was almost too much for her to handle!!!)
It is funny how the little things can mean so much to us, I mean chicken noodle soup does not usually stir up such strong emotion in people! But just knowing that someone took extra time out of our day to prepare food for our group was what made it so good- it really is the thought that counts!
I want to encourage you THIS DAY to do something special for someone. It can be anyone! Write a little note to your grandparents, rake the leaves in your neighbors lawn, bake some cookies for someone who is sick- the possibilities are endless! Just show someone you care by doing just something a little extra special for them, and I can tell you from personal experience just how much it means!
Thanks for everything Brunswick- we LOVED HANGING WITH YOU!!! Check out these pics from our event!!
No commentsSnapshots and Smiles in Marietta GA!!!
This blog post is all about the BIG PICTURES! Secret Keeper girl had an incredible time on Friday Night in Marietta Georgia with almost 700 moms and daughters learning to love the Lord with their hearts, minds, and modesty! There were just some awesome pictures from this event that deserve to be huge- so here we go!!
Are they not Beautiful?!?!
Love the mother/daughters pics!!
And here is a crowd shot…. your mission- spot yourself!!!
A HUGE ‘thank you!’ to everyone in Marietta who helped to make the night so memorable- from the church staff and volunteers to one of SKG’s former Managers Kim Michelle and everyone who has given their time, prayers and money to support and encourage the Secret Keeper ministry, WE LOVE YOU!!!!
No commentsSKG Kicks Off the Weekend in North Carolina!
Whoa! Everybody hold your horses because Secret Keeper Girl is unstoppable! We have a four-city tour this weekend, and we kicked things off in Concord North Carolina with the wonderful Jennifer as our hostess. The SKG team welcomed the warm summer weather (seeing as we have already had a SNOW DAY at our PA home!?!?) and it was super cool having our first ever SKG pre-show tailgate party…what a fun idea! The cars even had colorful balloons tied to the trunk and lawn chairs to make things extra comfy.
As always we had a spectacular time with the moms and daughters that came out to the event- my eardrums are still ringing from the mom/daughter scream fest that I’m pretty sure my Australian relatives heard Down Under. My favorite part of the night is always seeing mothers surround their daughters or young friends with hugs and prayers- I keep the tissues in my pocket in case I get “dust” in my eyes. And Praise the Lord, we had around FIFTEEN girls come forward to accept Jesus into their hearts that night, what a miracle! That is the ultimate reason why we do these tours, and if just one person comes away with a clear understanding of the Love of Jesus than it is worth it!
Check out these super cute pics from NC- thanks so much to y’all, we had a BLAST!
No comments$50 At Gap Kids For Your Thoughts!
THIS GIVEAWAYS IS CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO VICKI FROM TEXAS! AND THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR ADVICE!
You know the old saying, “A Penny For Your Thoughts?” Way underpaid. Your thoughts are worth so much more. That’s why I’m giving away one $50 gift card to Gap Kids for your thoughts (if you are a mom with an 8-12 year old daughter)! I think you’re worth it. I’m a little stuck in the negotiations of a title for my next book. So, if you’ll take five minutes to read the summary below, and then tell me which of the titles below you love (and which you hate)—I’ll enter you into my random drawing for the $50 gift card at one of our selected Shop Til You Drop retailers, Gap Kids. But the catch is, you have to be thorough in your entry. I need to know:
- Which title you most like.
- Why you most like it.
- Which title you least like.
- Why you least like it.
You tell me those four things, and you are in the running (if your daughter is 8-12). (What does that mean anyway?) OK, here we go…
SUMMARY OF BOOK:
By the time she’s sixteen, a Christian girl has a 50/50 chance of surviving life without experiencing sexual sin, eating disorders and depression. Parents who “did it right” can’t understand how it happened when their daughter falls on the wrong side of the stats. What they don’t know is that they may have done everything right, but started too late. The foundation for building an emotionally healthy teen girl—who stands free of the norms of an at-risk culture—is built between the ages of 8-12. But how does a parent navigate the critical subjects of boy-craziness, modesty, the Internet, and more without robbing her of her innocence? Here to guide the way, conversation-by-conversation, is best-selling author and mother/daughter connecting coach Dannah Gresh. She’ll help you explore six ways in which you can instill critical values in your daughter, while still keeping the “little” in your girl.
TITLE CHOICES:
- Carpool Queen & Sleepover Diva: How Connecting to Your Tween Girl Now Will Rescue Her Heart Later
- What’s Your Connection IQ?: How to Build A Lifelong Connection With Your Tween Daughter
- Confessions of A Tween Mom: How I Prepared My Girls To Be A Godly Teens (And You Can Too!)
- Preparing Your Daughter For Her Teens: Surviving Sixteen Starts When She Is Seven
- Six Ways To Keep The “Little” In Your Girl: Surviving Sixteen Starts When She Is Seven
Remember, select one title you like (and tell me why), as well as the one one you least like (and tell me why.) One random winner will be selected November 4th. I need the brain-power of 100 moms to really get some good information, so tell a friend. (You can tell them they have to share the winnings!) Thanks for your help!
